KARACHI – ‘Unidentified’ men on Friday attacked Aaj TV office and Express News DSNG in Karachi.
On the other hand, angry people stormed Hyderabad Press Club, attacked journalists and ransacked the office. In a press statement, Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA) condemned the attack on Aaj TV and called for security of the channel.
Mean while, enraged people took to the streets in parts of Karachi on Friday, manhandling media teams, closing shops and beating up police. According to reports, ‘unidentified’ people beat up a police constable at Electronic Market in Saddar area. The cop had to run to save his life from the mob.
There are reports of heavy traffic jam on MA Jinnah Road and Saddar. Some people burned tires at Numaish Chowrangi, leading to the massive traffic jam on the city’s busy thoroughfare. Empress Market, Boltan Market, Saddar, Electronic Markets were closed due to the protests.
